This exhibition is part of a new programme in EMΣΤ invites contemporary artists to intervene in the museum’s collection. It is the first time the work of Theo van Doesburg is presented in Greece. Dicke prints images culled from various sources, from fashion magazines to Bauhaus catalogues, and charges them with a sense of physicality through dissolving the images from the paper. The work plays with the tension between monument and ephemerality, questioning what and how we represent public memory&nbsp; in our current time. Soft monument displaces one of the monumental curtains hanging in the Electriciteits Fabriek and repurposing it as sculptural material. EDUCATIONI earned my BFA at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy from the Beeld en Taal department, which is the department that focuses on Fine Art as well as creative writing. It investigates how they relate and intersect. In 2019, I completed an MA in Museology at the Amsterdam University of Arts, Reinwardt Academy. Museology is the study of museums and heritage and their role within society. It explores the history and activities of museums, including curating, preservation, public programming, and education. Museology is not just about what happens within museum walls; it studies heritage production at large and places the museum in its local and global contexts. It covers theories and concepts from art, history, ethnic studies, archaeology, and anthropology.
